A&R 2024: Submitting the Best Possible QIP/Self-Assessment Working Document, Skills for during A&R & Post-A&R

ACA NSW Quickies (training) are less than 2 hours long and held throughout the year via live webinars, in-person and video-on-demand formats.

Quickies are primarily for Approved Providers, owners/directors and Nominated Supervisors with sector-specific information, advice, tips and even “tricks”.

The topics to be covered in the A&R 2024: Submitting the Best Possible QIP/Self-Assessment Working Document, Skills for during A&R & Post-A&R are:

  • How has A&R changed since 1 January 2018, 1 July 2023 and 1 January 2024?
  • Are there any differences between submitting a QIP versus the NSW Self-Assessment Working Document?
  • What timeline should services be guided by in advance of their A&Rs?
  • Which staff members and what skills are needed to prepare for A&R?
  • What are the common mistakes services make when trying to achieve Exceeding rating?
  • When should we start preparing for an A&R Visit?
  • What preparations (by the Approved Provider, Nominated Supervisor, Responsible Person as well as educators and teachers) are needed in advance of the A&R?
  • How to and how not to engage/respond with/to Authorised Officer(s)?
  • How to respond to the NSW Department of Education’s survey and draft report?
  • How the Tier 1, Tier 2 and NCAT review options are available to you if dissatisfied with your ratings?

Given the Quality Ratings issued for NSW-based early childhood education and care services, NSW’s Assessment and Rating has arguably been the most challenging. And this is likely to continue given the current NSW Department of Education’s calibration of the regulatory framework.

This Quickie provides NSW-based services with the best possible information and advice to share and support services in anticipation of their future Assessment and Ratings.
