Australian Citizenship Day celebrates being part of the Australian Community. Its where we talk about what it means to be an Australian citizen, and the culture of being Australian. On this day, we should feel proud of where we come from and celebrate the aussie spirit.

Activities: 

• Flag Making: Provide materials for children to create Australian flags using coloured paper, markers, and stickers. Discuss the symbolism of the flag's colours and the significance of the Union Jack and the Southern Cross.
• Cultural Dress-Up: Encourage children to dress up in traditional Australian clothing or costumes representing different cultures and nationalities.
• National Anthem Singing: Teach children the words to the Australian national anthem, "Advance Australia Fair," and practice singing it together. Discuss the meaning of the lyrics and the importance of unity and pride in our country.
  
• Australian Cuisine Tasting: Prepare a selection of Australian foods for children to taste and enjoy such as lamingtons, vegemite sandwiches, Anzac biscuits, and fairy bread.
