Calling for Expressions of Interest to trial "new" Formative Assessment tools for the Year Before School

The NSW Department of Education has just released its call for Expressions of Interest from early childhood education and care services to test their formative assessment tool(s) for children in their year before school.

Please note that services selected to participate will be allocated professional learning and up to $8,000.

Members will remember that ACA NSW has for many years been advocating for improvements of the Assessment & Ratings process and measurable outcomes, as well as proper harmonisation with schools. ACA NSW's concerns became ever more poignant when the NSW Department of Education (in September 2022) and the Federal Minister for Education (in October 2022) cited that 40%-45% of children were not developmentally on track upon starting school.

ACA NSW encourages as many members as possible to submit your interest to test the formative assessment tool(s). And ACA NSW would be keen to support members' registration and journey too.
