COVID-19: Anticipated changes to restrictions until 15 December 2021

NSW Premier (the Hon Dominic Perrottet MP) has announced some changes to the roadmap for COVID-normal.

Relevant the NSW's early childhood education and care services are the following statements from Premier Perrottet:

  1. "Those who are not fully vaccinated must still abide by pre-roadmap restrictions until the State reaches the 95 per cent double vacination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first"; and
  2. "The current settings for masks, which apply to everyone, will remain in place until the State reaches the 95 per cent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first".

What these two statements mean exactly will only be completely known after the release of amendments to the relevant NSW Public Health Orders, or their removals of the NSW Public Health Orders. This includes what restrictions will or will not remain on and after 15 December 2021.

Until then, NSW's ECEC services and their communities will continue to operate under the current restrictions as outlined for 18 October 2021 onwards as well as the mandatory vaccinations for all ECEC personnel by 8 November 2021.
