What is World Teachers Day?

World Teachers Day is celebrated to honour and celebrate teachers worldwide, and the role that they play in shaping the lives of students. Students show their gratitude through gestures of appreciation such as cards and gifts. Teachers are appreciated for their dedication on making a positive impact.

When is World Teachers Day?

Saturday, October 5 

Activities: 

• Thank you cards: provide art supplies and encourage the children to create thank you cards for their teachers
• Teacher appreciation: go around in a circle and encourage the children to share something they love or appreciate about their teachers
• Teacher’s Favourites: provide an opportunity for the children to ask their teachers about their favourite things such as their favourite food, colour, activities etc
  
• Teacher’s Lunch: organise a centre picnic where the children and the teachers can enjoy lunch with their teachers
