Bullying No Way Week

What is Bullying No Way Week?

Bullying No Way Week replaced the former event - the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. Instead of a single event, schools can not hold a 'Bullying No Way Week' all week long. Some schools may continue to implement a single day to concentrate on this event, whereas others may integrate bullying awareness throughoug their whole school week. It's aim is to raise awareness about bullying and promote strategies to prevent and address it. It encourages schools, communities, and individuals to act against bullying through education, awareness, and creating an environment of inclusion.

When is Bullying No Way Week?

Monday, August 11

Activities:

  • Group Time - Lead a discussion with children about what bullying is and why it's important to stand up against it. Discuss with children the importance to be kind, inclusive, and respectful to others.
  • Story Time – Read stories to the children that relate to bullying prevention, empathy, and friendship.
  • Kindness Rocks: Decorate rocks with positive messages and symbols of kindness, such as hearts or smiley faces. Place the kindness rocks in a garden or outdoor area as a reminder to spread kindness and positivity wherever they go.
  • Random Acts of Kindness Challenge: Challenge children to perform random acts of kindness throughout the day, such as complimenting a peer, sharing toys, or helping someone in need.
