Pancake Day

What is Pancake Day?

Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day in Australia, marking the last day before Lent. For Western Christian Churches, Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the fasting period of lent. On this day, countries around the world celebrate by making pancakes. Some people, churches and businesses also sell pancakes to raise money for charity where the money raised often goes towards those who need it. People also traditionally use up ingredients that they are not allowed to eat during the next 40 days, especially ingredients that will spoil such as eggs and milk.
