On 25 October 2016, ACA NSW Vice-President Elizabeth Russo and CEO Chiang Lim met with Tracy Mackey, Executive Director of the NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate. Consequently, ACA NSW has learned that since July 2016, all applicants for new childcare services in NSW will be required to attend a seminar and pass a written assessment before they can be an approved service provider. Previously, this requirement was on applicants for new Family Day Care services since the beginning of 2015.

NewApplication

ACA NSW has long supported the need to ensure only competent and properly resourced applicants to enter the childcare sector. That said, we will now seek details from the Directorate on the processes and standards employed for such assessments, and how ACA NSW can support a fair and consistent process for all.
