Clean Up Australia Day

What is Clean Up Australia Day?

Clean up Australia Day will take place on the first Sunday of March. The Schoold clean up day will be on Friday 1 March, whereas businesses are encouraged to get involved on Business Clean up Day on Tuesday 27th February. The School clean up is a greay way to encourage the children to learn about the impact rubbish can have on their local environment. Encouraging children to play an active role in their community will asisst them in raising awarneess for keeping our environment clean. The children are encouraged to clean up an area which is special to them, such as a playground, a park, or land near the school. 

When is Clean Up Australia Day?

Sunday, 3 March 

Activities:

• Open discussion about What is Clean up Australia day?
• Encourage the children to put on some gloves and walk around their playground/school/service and collect as much rubbish as possible 
• Encourage the children to continue clean up australia not just on this day, but everyday
• Learn about the different types of bins and what items can be placed in each of the bins
• Create an artwork using recycled material
