What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement held annually encouraging individuals, communities and businesses to turn off non electrical lights for one hour between 8:30pm-9:30pm as a commitment to the planet. Earth Hour is one of the world's biggest environmental movements encouraging local and global communities to unite and switch off to show they care about the future of our planet.  


When is Earth Hour?

Activities:

  • Learn about What Earth Hour is 
  • Encourage the children to walk to school on that day with their families if possible
  • Plant something in the Earth
  • Decorate a recycling bin 
  • Turn the lights off and use more natural light 
  • Make promises to our Earth
