What is National Close the Gap Day?

National Close the Gap Day advocates for the health equity of Australia's Indigenous people and educating the public about the health issues and barriers faced by them. The day itself encourages people to draw attention to the health issues of Australia's Indigenous people and to support legislation and programs to improve their conditions and wellbeing.

Activities:

  • Brainstorm the different health issues faced e.g. obesity, heart problems, mental illness
  • Learn all about unequal health outcomes 
  • Fundraise and donate to an organisation that provides health care for Indigenous Australian's e.g. "Closing the Gap", "The Purple House"
